14th March 2010....
Starting my double page spread (interview's and information about reading festival)
1ST STEP: i have decided to use a picture i took when 'florence and the machine' played on the NME stage at reading festival.. (shown bellow as my background for both pages)
it was dusk outside and it made the atmosphere in the tent even more exiting. the way it contrasts with the bright lighting in the tent made a really good background image for my double page magazine spread. i am using the same image on both pages to relate to each page, i did this by being influenced by a magazine i saw today (NME). the image on one of the double page spreads had the same image or one image split into one picture over two pages. i have decided to stick with just using the same image on both backgrounds, this way i realised the picture quality stays the same, and it looks symetrical.
2ND STEP: next i had both Adobe InDesign pages up, (the interview and information double page spread) and decided on two top strips - to relate to the other magazine pages i have done and also using the same yellow textbox's to create a relating sence of design. after adding these two yellow textbox strips at the top, i decided to use another yellow textbox, on the left hand page with the title 'READING FESTIVAL' and on the right hand page i added another yellow textbox, also with a title saying '2009/2010'. With both titles finished and layed out how i wanted them to be, i realised the textbox on the right hand page was too wide with the textbox stretching to either side of the page, there was big gaps of plain yellow and i decided to crop the textbox to the size of the title, this made more sence without wasting space on the page. Once i had succesfully layouted and croped my title textboxes i was ready to start adding images, and text to both pages.
(my blogger is still unable to let my upload my images - the IT department have told me to re-try the format, and exporting it, this didnt work as yet, so they are looking at my account tomorrow. hopefully i will be able to add my images of my pages and important editing i have done to them. at present it has finally let me blog my 'blogging diary' that i was doing on ruff paper as my blogger wouldnt let me post my information about how i was working.
* it is now the 24th Of March 2010 and my blogger is still having problems uploading my images. *
- this has now been sorted!! (edited post on the 30th march 2010)
